Just releasing a *gift* from my cat Suzy. I couldn't decide whether it was a young female cardinal or a song sparrow but the consensus in the comments is Song Sparrow so I'll go with that. A Song Sparrow of course is the same type of bird I rehabbed earlier this year in a cage and then set free. Thankfully this one was in great shape aside from being addled a bit so it didn't need any time in rehab.

  • Beautiful video! You loves animals!

  • I'm always conflicted about letting my cats roam free. They probably bring in a half dozen birds a year. Some of which aren't as fortunate as this one. They'd be impossible to live with if I kept them inside all the time though. They LOVE the outdoors.

  • I like the title plug there at the end.

  • I've been totally neglecting my cat channel. I really need to do a post there. So much to do, so little time.

  • Nice to see this. A neighbourhood cat got one of the little sparrows who follow me around in the garden every morning. The other sparrows made quite a noise over the loss of their friend.

  • Yes, thankfully he was in fine shape. Sometimes I have to keep them a week or two before they're able to fly.

  • Hey dude, so you are so nice guy any I like your video alot. Those cats were really cute. You still have them?

  • He was like : Wow ive never thought humans were this nice. Thank you for doing this for me!

  • My cat caught a baby sparrow. About 20mis ago. but theres no bites fortunately. I'm going to let him/her go tomorrow morning.

  • he looks so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Blinkazoid Keeping cats as indoor cats s very difficult, ive actually built a cat run on the side of my house so theycan still go outside, however they cant go hunting. (unless somthing manages to get in, which has somehow happened before.)

  • Nice to see you care, but good is in the eye of the beholder. That house sparrow now has the chance to grow up and join it's brothers and sister in killing the young cardinals and cracking their eggs in their nests.

It's certainly honorable what you did, no doubt about that. Unfortunately it may not have been the best thing to do.

  • Right, the wild birds do form a attachment to people. I have some house Wrens, wild in my yard and come over whenever im in garden, best talkers around

  • 3 cats and a bird flying free, heavenly!

    Thank you!
