In Knitting Daily TV Episode 212, author and knitwear designer Nancy Bush demonstrates a stretchy Estonian cast on for sock knitting that has many benefits, including an attractive cuff. Nancy Bush is the author of several books on sock knitting, including Folk Socks, Knitting Vintage Socks, and Knitting on the Road.
I also like this type of casting, but my mother, my grandmother and I have been doing this casting for years in Mexico. I thought that was the traditional Mexican technique of casting, I am confused. Anyway, GREAT JOB....

Nancy Bush is the greatest. Having the worst time trying to cast on, tho! More coffee and try again.

Just started knitting socks a few months ago. Tried this for the first time, it's fabulous! The doubled version she showed is very nice looking.

I usually use the long-tail cast-on because it's fairly elastic, but I'll give this one a try! I especially like the double-loop one.
