Qianjiadong was once an important place of residence for Yiuh Mienh (Iu-Mien) people and is recognized as their place of origin. But they were forced to leave Qianjiadong 700 hundred years ago. After that, Qianjiadong has become kind of a Holy Land for Yiuh Mienh people. This video was captured from Beijing TV illustrating an outside perspective about the Yao Yiuh Mienh Minority's history. This video was translated it into English by a Yao Yiuh Mienh from China, so that our people in Southeast Asia, U.S. and Europe could learn about a piece of our beautiful history. Enjoy this video.

Thank you to my new Yao Iu Mien friend from China: Bruce of Fudan University for sharing this with the Yao Iu-Mien people all over the world. Let's continue to remember and enlighten the world about our culture and history! :)

There will be more to come so please check for updates!

  • @fmsaechao06 No problem. It's my pleasure. My Mien friend in China and I are working on other projects to translate. Once we're done, I'll upload.

  • Thanks alot for uploading this video. It surprises me that we still don't know where we come from. Im sure that all mien people have a home land...everyone does.

  • As the majority ethnic group in China, the Han group are the ones dubbed as Chinese. I wouldn't call myself Chinese but I can say that we're a Chinese ethnic group simply because we're from China...but I wouldn't confuse this with the fact that we are not Han. We're distinctly Mien from the Yao minority nationality.

  • I love being Mienh :)
