Pickles takes a major nap lying down, complete with snoring

Pickles likes to nap in turnout, on the warm sand with her horse friend Nickie watching over her. In this video you can hear her snoring. She is a carpe diem girl, she siezes the day, whether it be eating, galloping, napping or sweetly and firmly demanding carrots. It's getting warm where she lives, and she gets kinda furry, so I'll be clipping her on Friday.

No, it isn't bad for their organs. You want to worry if your horse is down, looking at their abdomen, sweating and rolling violently - that's colic and can be deadly. Pickles loved to pass out in the sun every day, it gave her great happiness.

She was a school horse, and before that she obviously did a lot of stuff, but we didn't know her history. She's the horse I learned to ride on, and then she came up for sale at the horse riding school. I had fallen in love with Pickles so I bought her, that was 6 and 1/2 years ago.

She goes through phases, but yes, if the sun has warmed the sand and she's in the mood, down she goes to take a good solid quality nap. Sometimes she stretches in her sleep like a cat, moves her legs like she's dreaming about moving around, smacks her lips and licks and chews. She also likes to nap in her stall. She really is so cute.
