newcastle beach cliff 3d laser scan

A laser scan records a one megapixal picture -except each pixal has its x,y,z coordinates recorded as well as color. Thus it can be viewed in 3d. The area of a cliff being studied at the South End of Newcastle Beach Australia has been the site of a pathway that zig-zagged its way in a one direction reversal. A major Cleft at the base of these stairs was the result of a rockslide in the late 1890's. This was defined by the rock jointing pattern as is evident by a larger removal of unstable rock. The 1890's cleft was developed as a "dress circle" viewing platform that became known as the "James retreat" . James being the name of the mayor at the time. The retreat is shown in other videos posted by me. Look for the cliff stairs in them and at the base a cleft with people , tables and chairs exists. look carefully at the slope just to the side of the "dyke" and you will see a remnant of the path that is on the other videos. The large cleft that is just to the right of the "light diagonal strip" in the cliff is also the place that was most shattered by the geological rift at that location . The loose shattered material was also the source of the large rock fall and rockslide in the last years of the 1890's. Look carefully at the other videos for the path location and the remnant features still there.The intersection of the diagonal dyke with the top of the lower sandstone strata has the traces of the path evident to the left of that intersection. This is similar 3d technology that is being used to reconstruct the world heritage budda statue that was destroyed by the taliban in Afghanistan,
