Chapter 31: Apologized

Nick's P.O.V.

"Come on kids. We need to get up to the venue." My dad told us after Joe and I finished picking up around the kitchen.

"I'll be down in a few minutes. I need to get something out of my bag," Adam said.

"I'll come down later. I'm not feeling well," I told my family.

"Do you need me to stay with you?" my mom asked.

"No I'll be fine."

"Ok. Lockdown is in 45 minutes. Be there a little early," my dad ordered.

"Yes sir."

They all left. Nicki didn't, though, until she kissed my cheek and told me, "I love you Bubby." She always knows how to make me smile, no matter my mood. If I'm ever down, her calling me Bubby always brings a smile to my face.

A few minutes after my family had departed, Adam came back from the bunks. He didn't even give me a second glance, he just headed straight for the door.

"Ady," I said in a small, hurt voice. His back was to me, hand on the door handle. The sound of my voice froze him in place. He pulled his hand back, and turned to face me. "Ady, why do you hate me?"

"I don't hate you Nicholas. I am very, very disappointed in you. Not to mention angry." He came to sit next to me on the couch. Hearing that he was disappointed and angry with me didn't help how I was feeling one bit.

"How could you do that to Nicki?"

"I-I don't know. Miley, when she told me, she sounded like she meant it. I didn't even think of the possibility that she could be lying."

"How could you spank her? Out of anger no less." He asked me. The memory or me laying my hands on my sister in anger, and the look of shock, hurt, and tears in her eyes, made me feel like a piece of crap.

"I don't know. I'm sorry. I said I was sorry!" I told him. That took him by suprise.

"You did?"

"Yess! Didn't she tell you?"

"No, when did you do it?"

"The day before yesterday. I haven't got a clue what day of the week it was," I said, reaching for the remote to the TV and DVD player. I had had one of the camera men record my apoligy to Nicki. Now I'm glad i did. I preesed play. "Watch."

Adam watched in silence as I appeared on the screen. It started with when I was about to start talking. I watched for his reactions during the whole video. When it finished, I turned it off. He turned to look at me with a shocked expression.

"I didn't know. I'm sorry I've been so cold to you today."

"It's fine." We stood up, and did a 'man' hug. It was a little hard for me, cause he is so much taller than me.

"Shorty," he mumbled.
