@TheNewMusicNetwork The point being, contrary to the caption on this clip the new wave in Britain (which included anything that wasn't directly punk) finished in Britain as the New Romantics pushed it aside. Human League never had anything to do with punk, new wave or any type of rock. They were with Teardrop Explodes, Scritti Politti dare I say even Duran Duran. Electronic music was their genre and they wore BIG HAIR and lots of make up. Some of these morphed into goths in later years

@TheNewMusicNetwork If you're trying to tell me that Human League were inspired by Devo I think you need help. Devo were a freakish offbeat side line rock band over here. Half as much theatre as music. I happen to like Devo but they are a lightweight band historically. Human League rejected classic rock combos and followed in the electronica steps of Krafwerk alongside bands like Fad Gadget, Spandau Ballet, Joy Division, B-Movie etc. They were founding members of the New Romantic movement

@CompactJam BITCH LOL. It actually meant a lot. It's where pre-human league(the band that is being covered here) got a lot of their live/on stage ideas.
If you watch the documentary synth britania you might learn something, fag.

@TheNewMusicNetwork WOW THAT'S SO TOTALLY AMAZING!! I just wish it meant something. HL go to see Devo and ........ what? WTF are you on about? Actually no it's OK. I just remembered I don't care.

@CompactJam Yet the americans in DEVO played in 77 and the human league guys(then the future) went to see them.

@xfenwrathx The last I heard the Chilli Peppers were American. and BTW I'm not British. The British aren't the only ones who think America is pathetic :)
-
Fair play the chilii's do some bizarre covers
-
@CompactJam Silly British, assuming every comment they don't like is American...
-
Love it 55secs is not enuff

@ratscoot New Romantic not New Wave - I'm afraid - you Americans were always ten years behind. Human League were NOTHING to do with punk, post punk or new wave. Americans are funny :)
For the kids: this is a cover of "being boiled" by the Human League, early 80's Brittish new wave.

That's awesome of them to cover this excellent tune. The Chili Peppers have always drawn from a range of Post-Punk/New Wave influences.
