what is this, band hero

This week was actually quite good. I kind of like how I say that, implying that such thing to say is a rarity... Anyway.

Culture Club was okay, expectedly boring on guitar but is cool for the few harmony parts it has, as well as the keys. Well actually, I don't really like organ charts so it's meh in my opinion. It has some other parts but oh well. Overall, I think we all could've done without it and was probably the weakest single this week.

Faith No More was okay, not very fun. Chordy strumfest and probably more key driven than Midlife Crisis and a bunch of other stuff they could've chosen so I'll give them that. But dat bass. I'm a fan of Mike Patton and stuff but I really want some Mr. Bungle =( and none of that squeeze me macaroni bullshit

Stone Temple Pilots I really like, this song is a nice addition but the harmonies are confusing (on sightread of course) and the brown harmony in the verses seem way louder/poorly mixed, but it's been a while since I sat down and had a good listen so eh. Hopefully it translates into a fun pro chart!

And then we have WORKING FOR THE FUCKING WEEKEND WOOOOO surprised this is tiered lower than STP but oh well. Not saying it's harder but that strumming kind of caught me off guard but okay. I love how vague the lyrics are. Harmonies are typical. Awesome keys and guitar, can't wait to protar it outtt

And without further ado, Phish. Every song they've had in a rhythm game is awesome, with the obvious exception of Llama of course but screw that song. Not really good for vocals except the harmonies on Tweezer are lolwut, these are incredibly fun across everything without being too overly difficult and blahblahblah. However, the songs are slightly lengthy. If you had to choose between both Phish songs then go for Stash (shorter, more "difficult," way more variety and imo the better of the two songs although both are great)

and there we go zzzzz

also, check it out meng http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6_QInwQBo8
I'm working on charting some stuff (not this one in particular) and so far it's AWESOME so keep an eye out ;)

  • @jerikutorocks @PrEdAtA91 I really wish I could post that picture of Willa Wonka all smiling and looking off to the side with the caption "you must be new"

  • 2:47 I like how they just added another random note into that pattern to make it tier 1 instead of tier 0... haha...

    Why?

  • Boy George scared me when I was three and now the fucker still scares me. Not homophobe scare but creepy sex crime guy scare. Yikes.

  • @Tremuto Haha I think of that movie too when I hear this song. @goodboy196 I'd have much preferred that song over this one. :(

  • @CCDaDon15 It is funny how I manage to play these flawlessly on Guitar Hero and Frets on Fire.

  • @TheDeadPlayers if the game think's you're strumming that note instead of the one after it I think it's a problem with how you're playing that section, not the engine.

  • @GervasesWrath I am studying, so I have to do something on my freetime thank you. Anyways, that's besides the point.

The point is that these kind of slides that have a strummed note on the end sometimes bugs out in the game unless you have a perfect calibration, where the game thinks you are strumming the hammer-on note and makes you miss the other one. The only way to counter this is to strum all the notes, which is pretty akward and it feels very unnatural.

  • @TheDeadPlayers who gives a shit, seriously. it's not a "random" note and it makes the chart more interesting. also, did you have to include that sad info at the end?

  • @TheDeadPlayers Awkward to you. I like notes like that. Awkwardness in this case is a subjective matter.

  • VIOLENT FEMMES

  • WowAOBH

  • @HammettSHREDZ Slides are all well and good, except when it comes a strum at the end and the blasted engine thinks you strummed the Ho/Po note and not the strummed one. It happens from time to time.

And I have about 3 years of experience with both custom charting and playing the game almost every day, so I do know what I am talking about.
