Jumping on the whole stereo wagon here. After watching Volvoxburger's last video, I got myself some simple recording equipment and started playing around.
I tried converting to a format youtube likes using mencoder but no luck so far. So I used Alfonso's recommendation and converted with 'Any Video Encoder'. The vid seems to play fine now, although oddly enough, it does not play fine outside of youtube...

Meanwhile, the tune is a little bit of a new twist for me. A shuffle rather. I'm not sure how good it comes out, I'm having
a hard time feeling it. Not used to shuffles I guess :-)
Nevertheless, I get to learn a couple of fancy upper structures in the 3rd chorus.

Next up is one of my favorite, a H. Silver's bossa. I should have a lot of fun with that.

I hope you enjoy the video. Check out the etude book - "Jazz Conception" for piano at Advanced Music

Have fun

  • whats that music in the background? if its a track please tell me.

  • yes, Jazz Conception - Jim Snidero.

  • do you know where i can get it that conception thing for free?

  • You can't. But it's around $15 and it's the best $15 I've ever spent.

  • over here your stereo test seems very successful, with my akg headphone is really like a studio sound.

    Nice swing piece, well done.

  • Thanks! It has kind of a club feel to it, probably from placing the mics too close. I'm glad you enjoyed.

  • Good sound on both backing track and piano. The piano's really clear too, good job!

  • Note that this book is full of nice surprises. Which is why I recommend it to any serious jazz beginner (like myself).

  • thanks Roger! Much appreciated. I wish I could take credit for the arrangements. I promise I'll post some of my own sometimes soon.

  • Great job! Very enjoyable listening to you play this. I like the repeating figure you use to start your solo and then the use of the altered chord sequence (#11) at 1:16 was very nice.
