Coco was diagnosed with a partially torn right rear ACL as a result of playing fetch in our back yard. Our vet recommended immediate surgery @ a price of $2,000.00!! We sought a second opinion and were referred to APEX Animal Hospital's physical therapist, Jennifer Hill. After 1 session with Coco, 5 sessions of hydrotherapy were recommended in the hospital's 4,000 gallon climate controlled pool. The sessions cost nowhere near the quoted cost of surgery less than 10% of the $2,000.00. Before getting into the pool, Coco, had a fear of water. It took approximately 20 minutes to lure him into the swimming pool. This video shows him getting through the mental block that was infront of him and Coco finally embracing the water. We are now able to take Coco out to the lake where he loves to swim after his toys and follow me around as I fish from the shore line. Coco's balance, strength and knee have improved a great deal in the last month. He has exercises that we do with him at home that coincide with his hydrotherapy. He is now able to do 25 minute walks with no problem and is a very happy dog. :)
