Bladderwort (Utricularia foliosa) a carnivorous aquatic plant of the Florida Everglades, is seen here holding a live tadpole of the invasive cane toad (Bufo marinus aka Chaunus marinus). Eventually the entire tadpole will be drawn in and digested. This plant captured and consumed hundreds of newly hatched cane toad tadpoles over a just a few days. Can Utricularia control the population of invasive cane toads?
