I've never had my feet on that island but, I have been VERY close to it on the way to the North Pole. It actually worked out well for us. Transferring a couple of guys out, we got a couple of pallets of FRESH stuff. Veggies, fruit, milk, REAL ice cream. We'd already been out nearly a month and all that stuff was gone already. It was like getting a 're-charge'. And, it IS windy and remote there. Bering Sea to the North, Pacific to the South. Wouldn't bother me to live there.
Hey NAVC130VET my hubby was the Chief for that plane I'm sure you probably worked with him. We'd love to go visit it again some day but I do stress only a visit. Don't think I could live there again.
