J2X engine:
The Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV), CEV is the spacecraft that NASA plans to use to send human and cargo items into space and to return them to Earth. The CLV, an in-line configuration with a 5-segment Reusable Solid Rocket Motor (RSRM) as the First Stage and a new Upper Stage powered by a liquid hydrogen / liquid oxygen J2X engine, will deliver the Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) to low-Earth orbit early next decade.

  • An amazing engine, thanks for the video.

  • this isn't the j2x engine. the first test engine was completed only a few weeks ago. moreleftpedal, designing a brand new engine from scratch without using designs derived from earlier, successful engines would've been a hell of a lot more expensive for you and the rest of the tea party

  • Jada jada jada.... "we took an ol' engine from out back, made a new frame, stuck an X on the name, and charged the taxpayer a shit load of money for it...."

Problem is, no one has the ball to fire the ol bitch up anymore!

Come on people, we have had fourty odd years to figure this shit out!!!

  • Four because they didn't test fire it.

If the engine is finished test fire the thing.
