here we go i look forward to riding this line in the not to distant future as i think it will be great
-
Yeh, the GLR are hoping to extend the track to Templecombe, but they can't get the planing permission, they are hopeful for 2011!
A long way off yet!
-
i wish i had loads of cash to give to them because the trackbead is there but no track for many miles it would be much more fun if they did extend
-
Indeed, my friend from the ESR works there, he's got a it board with the ESR, he's now going to the WSR, but he is staying at the GLR, and the GLR is a brilliant little railway, went there for their steam vintage show, cheack my videos, you'll find it there somewhere!
Cheers

yeh i hope to volunteer at the GLR 2 simply cos they only have 10-15 open days a year which is usefull as its not very close to my home
-
Maybe, but i'd rather be a visitor rather than a volunteer on second thoughts.
I might try the GLR
And to think there are now as many people using our railway system as during the peak in the 1920's. It seems so short sighted ripping up the tracks and demolishing stations back in the 60's. John Betjeman said as much in a documentary in the early 60's - and he has been proved right.
It's wonderful to see the tracks being put back.

@derwent Indeed so. It was such a waste! But like you say, it's great they're getting the track down again, they should have nearly a mile come next year!
