throw the A,B,C,D,E choices out for every test/exam/quiz..let them learn the answer by themselves. They will be forced to study in that sense because if they don't, their papers will be blank, failed the exam.

the teachers are one thing
but theres another thing we dont realize
it lies with the home
a majority of parents have kids but refuse to grow up and treat ther kids as friend instead of mom and dads
with that kids arn't given set bed times (as sleep is a major factor that kills us) and they need discipline
without discipline kids have gotten soft and lost their drive as they have been put in setting that they cannot fail
kids need to experience failure so they can move forward

I am from Malaysia and the education system here, being mediocre as it is, actually has a more comprehensive science and maths syllabus than the American high school syllabus. I always complained about stupid rote learning methods employed by my school.
America has the best colleges and universities in the world, thus there is a large discrepancy between its lower and higher education. If it weren't for the H-1B visa, America's economy would be crumbling..

Maybe there is something wrong with the American kids who don't want to study, who don't want to achieve. Less American Idol and more hitting of the books, huh. How can kids succeed when the parents of these kids are flunkies themselves.

@shadowdancerist Oh, really? My mother ate beef, and the lowest IQ of her children is about 130. If you want to be a vegan, great -- I'm not putting you down -- but when you make statements saying that beef eaters give birth to unintelligent children, you are just being ridiculous.
