no it doesn't matter what side, it's not the heart you want to push on it's the sternum.

Thank you for your video and your answers!
Getting a defibrillator seems impossible, but the rest is pretty clear now. Thank you.
Btw, I've just noticed the "tips for busy women".
Funny. XD
I'm a 26 years old guy yet I still find it interesting and helpful.

A few questions:
1. Mouth to mouth isn't needed?
2. I'm not really sure where exactly to press. Isn't supposed to be the left side of the chest (where the heart is?). Because you seem to press on the top center part of the chest.

Thanks for your questions!
1. Mouth-to-mouth on an adult who collapses in front of you is actually less effective than giving continuous, fast, and strong chest compressions. There is already oxygen in the blood -- you just need to circulate it. Keeping the blood moving, calling 911, and getting a defibrillator is the person's best chance of surviving.
2. You need to press in the center of the chest - not to either side. This creates a pumping action inside the chest to circulate the blood.

Hands-only CPR is needed when an adult collapses in front of you. There is enough oxygen in the system to keep the person going until the AED or help arrives.
There is evidence that continuous chest compressions are more helpful than stopping for breaths. Again, it is easy to help. Jump in and push hard on the chest until help arrives.
Please use the Heart Associations' CPR Anytime program to learn how to help children and adults in other situations.
Thanks for your question!
