Rather didn't cut to the truth. Rather thinks that one action represents a man's entire career. That's like saying someone is stupid because they got one question wrong on a math test.

Oh, the House/Senate did a $10 million dollar study? Well, that certainly clears you of any wrong doing.

Of course. We should let Bush represent himself with his terrible career, and his wealthy and hideous family. Only that would be fair. Dan Rather is so mean!

Looks like Rather " politically want to cut his heart out and throw his liver to the dogs."

I couldent Agree more. Rather was clearly going after George W because George H.W. Bush

mopped the floor with Rather in this interview. Revenge seeker

Because the media needs to attract high-profile politicians to interviews in order to get good ratings, and aggressive questioning like this mostly results in pushing them away. This is particularly true for incumbents, who can afford to be choosy with who interviews them, and need all the sympathy they can get (e.g. Bush in 2004). Challengers like Romney need attention more than they need sympathy, which is why he had to give longer and more hard-ball interviews (as Obama did in 2008).

I find it frightening that even now some people are thinking about bringing the Bush family back into the Whitehouse, the level of past corruption they have been involved in should make every American tremble...
