Neither George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld nor Dick Cheney are neoconservatives. Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle and Elliot Abrams are, but the neocons had no representatives in the administration's top tier. The contention that the neocon faction gained the upper hand in the White House has a superficial plausibility because the toppling of Saddam Hussein was actualized not due to the impact of the neocons, but because of the impact of the four airplanes hijacked on September 11, 2001.

You're right, but that's because neoconservatism holds no central organized tenets. It is a tendency rather than a movement. A reaction towards the conditions the modern world finds itself in. They embrace, I believe rightfully so, the recognition that in a clash with totalitarianism or authoritarianism, liberal democracies need to act, as it were, against character and be constantly vigilant.

There is a world of difference between being "vigilant" and launching an attack on another country under false pretences. Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

Perhaps not directly, but in the broader war with Islamic terrorism, there could be no substantial progress with Saddam still in power. As a matter of sheer fact, we do know that Saddam Hussein had maintained extensive ties to regional and global terror groups including al-Qaeda. Zarqawi was living and training people in Iraq before the 2003 invasion, and countless others have found safe haven in Baghdad over the years. including Abu Nidal and Abu Abbas, two of the most notorious of their time.

unfortunately, abu nidal and abu abbas are not members of al qaeda, nor did they declare war on the united states as al qaeda did. furthermore, al qaeda may have sought assistance from saddam, but all you need to do is look at his war with the ayatollahs to see he was no lover of islamic fundamentalists. think about it...osama nihilistic views had no place in saddam's regime.

One of the primary concerns of the Bush doctrine was the states who harbor terrorists. It's simple really, and I think it's naive to draw mundane distinctions between who belongs to which group. Decades of this sort of appeasement thinking is what led to the catastrophe on 9/11, which, incidentally, vindicated the arguments neocons have been making for years. Perhaps they disliked one another, but Hussein and bin Laden all but had an alliance in the vein of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'.

Constructive video. NOT a very constructive tagline. "Damn the Conservatives to Hell" does not help the cause, lady...

yeah this is the age old notion that its easier to win political squabbles when you argue what you know isn't exactly the truth. its called pragmatism. Kissinger expressed the same notion when he said he values ideas based on their usefulness not truthfulness.
