@agilefalcon16 no veliociraptors wernt as big but deinonychus was i think jurssic park took them because they look alot scarier but the name didnt sound aswell so they called them velociraptor and it really paid off =)

@YManCyberDude Velociraptors weren't nearly as large as the ones in Jurassic park, yes, but they were still far larger than a small dog. Skeletons have been measured to be over 6 feet in length. You can look it up. And you can't really use weight as an indication of size. Velociraptors had hollow bones, so 33lbs goes a lot further on creatures like that than it would on a dog. As a point of reference, keep in mind that a bald eagle (which also has hollow bones) only weighs about 9 lbs...

@YManCyberDude the dinosaur that they called velociraptor in the movie actually did exist though. it was just called something else. i forgot what, but u can look it up if care

@TheFutureMarine101 … Nope, do some research. It was tiny.  One could just punt one across the room like a small dog. They made it larger in the movie because… well… it wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic if they had represented it in actual size…

@YManCyberDude While Velociraptor was small, definatly bigger than 2' though, other members of its family, like Deinonychus, were larger. Take the Utahraptor fo example. It could reach heights of almost 2 meters, and was up to 6.5 meters long.
