F4E Phantoms of the 36th Tactical Fighter Squadron are on alert for the imminent arrival of the US Vice President's plane soon to arrive in South Korean airspace in 1982. Aircraft were on 5 min alert and armed with AIM-7 Sparrow radar missiles, AIM-9 Sidewinder heat seekers, and 639 rounds of 20MM in the M61 Vulcan cannon.

  • The F4 flies on the principal that if you put a big enough engine on a brick...it could fly too!!
