  • this case is bull...he's only on trial because he's not white

  • @SamuelJoaodaSuica I accept the degrees of difference. I might not be a big fan of them, but I accept that they are what they are. We're too lenient in America. We allow people to claim things like intent. Drunk drivers who kill claim they never intended to kill anyone, but big deal. They drank. They drove. They killed. Away with them.... You target someone's weaknesses, for humor, and it all backfires, too bad. A prank is no excuse. If that's how you amuse yourself, then don't cry now.

  • @wolfwilliams

So what you are saying is that whenever anyone commits suicide because of humiliation, the punishment should be equivalent or greater than a physical assault charge???

Look, the intention was never to kill anyone, which is probably why Ravi said no to the plea deal. He is convinced of his innocence because there was never any intent in the first place.

According to your logic I would think that you see no difference between Man-slaughter and First degree murder either, do you?

  • @SamuelJoaodaSuica Go ahead; cry for this kid because the media is "persecuting" him. Is that your take? He did it to himself. Maybe next time he'll think before he acts so stupidly. You want him to get off with a slap on the wrist. A guy is dead, and this kid's stupid "prank" played a role in that. You wanna dance, you gotta pay the band. Time to pay the band..... Some pranks aren't free. This kid should have thought harder before being a dickhead. He knew exactly what he was doing.

  • @wolfwilliams

I think the media is just intensifying that to make people blind of Justice... When you look at a case, it is imporant to look at both aspects of a story and then form a conclusion... Again, as I have said before, I think Ravi is Guilty, but the kind of blind hate he is receiving from people wanting to charge him with a hate crime and 10 years in prison is a WHOLE INJUSTICE of its own... And the way the media portrays Ravi like a Nazi and Tyler as a Jew is just completely wrong.

  • @SamuelJoaodaSuica I don't believe in 'hate crimes' so you can save that. But neither do I believe this Ravi loser had innocent motives. If he did, there would have been no need to highlight the 'gay' aspect of his roommate's relationship.

  • @wolfwilliams

    "He'll deserve whatever happens"...

Believe it or not, but I think he will just pay a fine and move on...

The worst realistic punishment may be a year or two in prison.

however 10 years is out of the question. I think he knows what he's doing. He's not crying because he is convinced that his motives were innocent, why else would he say NO to such an amazing plea deal??? Surly he must have a good reason. I believe it's because he is not a Hater and did not commit a hate crime!

  • @SamuelJoaodaSuica This is your definition pf friendship, making fun of someone by broadcasting their personal life online? Some friend. Clementi was obviously sensitive about his homosexuality, and if these two were 'friends' then this Ravi clown would have been more sensitive to that part of Clementi's life. You try to pass this off as a prank if you like. But friends do not prank friends in their most vulnerable spots. This punk Ravi can't cry about it now. He'll deserve whatever happens.

  • @wolfwilliams

It was a prank, that's why. Friends make fun of each other for many things all the time, and Ravi even tweeted that he found out that his "friend is gay" (yes, they were friends)...

It was nothing more than a prank, and Ravi even said "no" to a plea deal because he is so certain that what he did was not a hate crime. If you were just, you would realize that Ravi is guilty, but not of a hate crime, and not 10 years in prison. Usually invasion of privacy should just be a huge fine
