Mantissa's music video for single Mystery Line 1992. Produced by Doug Roberts & remixed by Terry Date for the debut album Mossy God. Live footage is from The Phonenician Club, Sydney combined with stage shots from a soundcheck somewhere.. :)

  • maybe wrong, but remember something about heroin playing a part in the demise!

Second album "Thirst" failed miserably. Probably a liitle too ambitious for the time, no one else playing music anything like what Mantissa were playing back then. I saw them supporting Pantera Nov. '94, proir to Thirst coming out. Massively hostile response from the audience, made me ashamed to be amongst that crowd, they deserved better.

  • Love this forever!!!! I bought this album for about ten different friends throughout he yrs....wish more had come out!

Can't help you there sorry mate, other then the obvious Jedd Starr connection beween KT & Starworld, no idea. couldn't agree more though on the Melb rock scene!

  • Yo brother got another question for you, what ever happened to Starworld, l walked into the Tudor Inn one night, in the back bar those guys were playing to a huge audience of maybe 22 people and man they were rock'n big time, Marshalls and Strats what a great combination, the front man i used to see around, a skinny dude with long red hair, we've had some might fine rock'n roll come out of Melb yes, hope you know ???

Yep spot on, name changed from Killing Time to Mantissa(another band in the US called KT) - spilt up mid 90's, second album didn't go to well after Mossy God - usual pressures of young band, delivering to the record company, and band members going in different ways I think.

  • What a great front man, if l remeber right the band had to change their name becoz of another band called them on it maybe ??

Why did these guys fade please tell me I'd love ta know ??????
