  • This particular location was modeled by many people and is available free online. Lots of people get the model of that building and practice their lighting skills in their favorite renderer with it.

  • @drooblats Enlighten requires preprocessing, and it can only handle moving light sources OR moving/animated objects, not both at once. LPV lighting is done entirely on the fly.

  • @fastone32 the 'lol' was a clue that it was a joke. as far as architectural design, it's not exactly cutting edge, but in actuality it is only a digital model and a test of the game engine. my comment didn't address the housing needs of real ppl. if this is your design i apologize. i didn't mean any harm. in fact it's not a bad design. don't feel bad, ok? on topic: i liked the video and cryengine 3 demo, thanks. btw, u a cheater? lol<<

  • @fastone32 take it easy big guy, it was a joke. cryengine and the modeler of these spaces did a great job and I'm well aware of all sorts of vernacular architecture from around the world... (someone needs a chill pill), and no one, including you, is a waste of a human.

  • This video was done in the DX9.0c api. I dont know why this is such a big deal when instead of this crap they should be trying to enhance Radiosity rendering techniques, I mean we have GPU's now that have 1,600 processing cores per GPU meaning the Dual GPU's solutions have 3,200 of these cores- add a 2nd of these cards and you have 6,400 cores. We have the hardware to support these advanced rendering techniques but developers have been slow to type code to take advantage of our new hardware!

  • Down with CryEngine 3 Global Illumination! Up with Geomerics Enlighten!

  • Thanks, I'll probably mess with that once I get around to implementing light propagation volumes myself ;)

  • @InvalidPointer

You can now download this version of Sponza from Crytek's website.

  • It's the Sponza Atrium, which is a fairly standard test case for global illumination algorithms. Apartments, eh. Couldn't tell you.

  • i want Cryengine 3 so bad
