I put together this short video in iMovie using five sources from YouTube as well as Fatboy Slim's song "Right Here, Right Now".

Please post your comments and let me know what you think. The video I created in 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyZRS0BnpAI) was three minutes long and last year (http://youtu.be/Z4gt62uAasE) my update was two minutes long. I really wanted to get this update to under a minute...it was hard to cut so much info, but keeps people's attention better! Anything I could do to make the next video more engaging?

Video sources I combined and edited to make shorter:
"Did You Know 4.0" ‪http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ILQrUrEWe8
"Social Media Revolution 2011" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SuNx0UrnEo
"‪internet statistics 2010 - amazing stats‬" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XyWTGepCHo
"‪Social Media Revolution 2010‬" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NB_P-_NUdLw
"Social Media Revolution 2" (Refresh) ‪http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFZ0z5Fm-Ng

Original creation: XPLANE, The Economist, Karl Fisch, Scott McLeod and Laura Bestler. http://shifthappens.wikispaces.com

Credit also goes to Erik Qualman of Socialnomics (http://YouTube.com/Socialnomics09) as well as Web123Media (http://YouTube.com/Web123Media) and Social Media Energy (http://YouTube.com/SocialMediaEnergy). You can see their great videos here on YouTube!

The song "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim can be downloaded on iTunes

  • Ian - GREAT Video (again). The shortened version is bound to come in handy! Although the 2010 version seems to drive the point home a little better, this version caters to those who must have it in under a minute.

    Thanks for making these!

  • Ian, I like the video. 2010 one was used in front of an audience and very well received. I think there was no need to shorten the video, just update the information so its current. Anyone interested in Social Media will watch the full video. Dr. Summer Knight

  • Great video, very interesting! For me it was no problem the video being longer than 1 minute, content is great!

  • Love this vid! Great work!

  • Excellent! Great infovid with a lot of data in under a minute!

  • Another great video on the relevance and reach of Social Media. I like the reference to the Volkswagen / Darth Vader Super Bowl commercial. I agree with the previous poster, it is a bit short. Most people can tolerate a 2 min video especially when it is well done and interesting.

  • great but a bit short....

And fatboy slim is still a good choice for this video.

r u going to make a full version?

  • You spelt Darth Vader incorrectly, I think the mobile web date of 2020 is more like 2014, doesn't really have much different to the orginal
