okay i got another question i just noticed that my two kicker comp 15s are different ohm one is 4 ohms and the other is 8ohms will this create a problem with the quantum 3000 watt cosmic series amp that is now connected

@cisnerosrobert You dont. The purpose of the DVC sub is to split the impedance to separate voice coils, as well as, create more options for wiring. If you were to use just one voice coil, you would be giving that voice coil more power than it is designed to handle ie; 500w DVC sub = 250w per voice coil. If you send 500w to that one voice coil, stand back and watch your sub smoke sooner than later. You may be able to run half the (w) to that 1 sub, but what would be the point. Inbox for more ?'s

@devonte937 DVC subs usually have a channel that is labeled with a dot. (Red or White) This dot signifies that where the dot is will be the same voice coil. You want to run your wires to the Negative without the dot and the positive WITH the dot to the amp (or vise versa). The open voice coil you will run a single wire connecting them (no dot hot to dotted ground - or vise versa). This will give you a 4 ohm load on the subs, 2 ohm load on the amp. If you have more questions you guys inbox me.

@cisnerosrobert You dont. If you were to only use 1 voice coil on the (DVC) then you would not be splitting the power between voice coils, forcing the 1 voice coil to eat twice the rms instead of half of it. In other words the DVC sub is designed to split power between voice coils as well as present more wiring options down to 2 ohms. (.5 if your amp is stable)
