  • are you willing to debate anarchism vs. minarchism?

  • jan, i heard your interview with anarchist stefbolt, you might want to re-think your own contradictions.

  • WHAT CONTRADICTIONS? WILL YOU DEBATE? It is easy to win a debate if you don't give the other fellow equal time to defend his position and don't follow the rules you agreed to in the beginning of the debate.

  • Stephan agreed to a particular format and he was unwilling to complete the debate as agreed to. We ran out of time because he exceeded the time allotted for answering questions, asked 13 questions instead of the 10 that he was allotted and had technical difficulties which were his responsibility.

  • . I was generous and flexible and let him go over time assuming he would show me the same courtesy. However, he was unwilling to let me ask him even 10 questions much less 13. He was unwilling, to continue the debate with the rebuttals and summaries by both parties as agreed. Instead he preferred to produce a one-sided postmortem. If you are unwilling to respect the even most elemental principles of fairness you have to wonder what can be expected in a anarchist society.

  • I am available to continue the debate with him or another anarchist. I challenged him to do so and I challenged other anarchist to do so but there were no takers. Do you know why? It is hard to win a debate when you are wrong. And sometimes, it takes a couple of rounds, but the truth ultimately becomes clear.

  • Please post more of your interviews. They are extremely educational.

  • Two contradictions--often stated in some fashion--are that (1) taxing aside, governments still have to initiate force in order to prevent other "protection agencies" from competing with them. Providing retaliatory force is a service, not a crime, so why should a government forcefully be granted a monopoly on it? Also, (2) who settles disputes between people from different countries? Taken to its logical conclusion, the "ultimate arbiter" concept implies world government.

  • I agree. Jan's argument was really weak. Especially the argument about the relocation of people (by force) who don't want a state.

  • you lost the debate. deal with it.
