If you believe the media, Detroit is one vast wasteland. But it's amazing what you can discover just by driving around, which I love to do. These few blocks of sparkling new homes, smooth sidewalks and manicured lawns were a complete surprise. And there's more where this came from. The song just happened to come on the radio.

  • Hopefully this happens to my father's old home, which was burned down.

  • I am going to Cleveland but am from Detroit.

    When I am there, I'm gonna judge which city I like better. I've got The D in my mind, though.

  • At one time Detroit was in better condition than Cleveland. Today, the opposite is true. Since the 90s, Cleveland has gone up as Detroit has skidded downwards.

  • Not to stir up rivalries between cities but they always called Cleveland (where I live) "The mistake on the lake!" However, I feel Detroit has this eerie, ominus feeling about it everytime I go there...its good to see that there is growth and progression. Out of the ashes rises the Phoenix...
