If you believe the media, Detroit is one vast wasteland. But it's amazing what you can discover just by driving around, which I love to do. These few blocks of sparkling new homes, smooth sidewalks and manicured lawns were a complete surprise. And there's more where this came from. The song just happened to come on the radio.
Hopefully this happens to my father's old home, which was burned down.

I am going to Cleveland but am from Detroit.
When I am there, I'm gonna judge which city I like better. I've got The D in my mind, though.

At one time Detroit was in better condition than Cleveland. Today, the opposite is true. Since the 90s, Cleveland has gone up as Detroit has skidded downwards.

Not to stir up rivalries between cities but they always called Cleveland (where I live) "The mistake on the lake!" However, I feel Detroit has this eerie, ominus feeling about it everytime I go there...its good to see that there is growth and progression. Out of the ashes rises the Phoenix...
