A great thing to do, in order to get a pulse on a country, is to check out a sporting event. In Japan, that means soccer or baseball. This time I head out to see the Oita Trinita play and encounter a lot more than soccer.

Included in the pregame acts were: a kinetic sculpture by Theo Jansen, a taiko performance, low-level jpop performance, and crowd chants. You get a little bit of everything it seems.

I highly recommend a soccer or baseball game if you are in Japan. It will surely be worth it. The lowest price tickets are usually around 1000~1500 yen ($12-18) too.
