@meldong321 Enjoy the song.I follow Jesus too,but alas,some Christians see demons in everything.This song is rejecting masculine dominance and control,but there is NO intellectual evidence it is a rejection of religion.It is bad academic practice to use one text to analyse another,unless there is a clear iconic reference to that other text.Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' is a much better example of using iconic imagery to comment on religious ideas.Phones are NOT symbols of rejection of religion.

Your use of 'Personal Jesus' to analyse 'Telephone' is intellectually flawed.'Hidden' messages or not,analysis must always be of THE CONTENT ACTUALLY THERE.U can't use the meaning of 1 text to assume the meaning of another.While a phone is mentioned in PJ,the same meaning CANNOT be attributed to the Gaga song, unless SOLELY based on the lyrics or video.Unless there are other words/images that support it,you can't say this for sure.A rejection of masculine control,sure,butGod?Not necessarily.
