I find this position troubling. Usually Americans are obsessed with bigger is better, and tend to overlook gracefulness (747-8 and 787). Now the European's are obsessed with bigger is better, and tend to look gracefulness (A350 and A380). This is an odd position for either of us to be in... do I sense an Apple-Microsoft conspiracy?! Either way, I hope both Boeing and Airbus survive. If one goes out, we can say bye-bye to any "new" innovations in flight.
Please, Airbus & Boeing share a huge range of suppliers and major debt is a reality of any new widebody program. Don't turn this into Airbus vs. Boeing immaturity; the business world is much more global.
Neither the A380 or 787 is executing successfully. A380 came out of a 2 yr delay and is dealing with major production rate issues; some airlines will see their planes several years late. The 787 has had severe supplier and engineering issues and is 3 yrs behind. I hope both programs succeed.
The 747 is such an amazing aircraft, and it continues to evolve into a better and bigger aircraft, yet it still retains its gorgeous looks. The A380 has got nothing on it in terms of aesthetics.
Hahaha, bite me You just don't get it do you? The reasons that they can recover from WWII at such an incredible pace is just too much for your little brain to grasp.

As as you yanks would say 'the bigger the better', A380>747
