you said the PS3 isn't backward compatible, but with the newer systems you have to download something from Playstation Network. The older PS3s are backwards compatible for the fact that I just finished a game called "Indigo Prophecy". So saying PS3 isn't backwards compatible isn't true.

The new PS3s are not backwards compatible. I don't know why that misinformation continues to be spread, but that update is related to the series Singstar and not the entire PS2 library. The hardware for PS2 capabilities was removed.

I will not buy an older PS3 that has 24+ months of wear and tear already on it. It's better to just buy a new PS3 and new PS2 on the same day than gamble my money on a "new" older model PS3 on eBay.

I don't care what console I have, as long it has fun games exclusive or not, PSN, virtual console or XBLA if it's fun...PLAY IT.

I have to say, until recently the 360 has really been the superior system as a whole. But Sony is learning and adapting, and I like the games Uncharted, MGS4, inFamous, among others. I think it's worth getting if you have the money. I think Blu ray frankly is a good idea, but I do agree the price is a lot. Frankly I just wanted to get a PS3 instead of a 360 and a blu ray.

Well, I brought that up not exactly knowing the details. I have possession on an older PS3, and my friend came to me with the problem that the new ones couldn't play PS2 games. So that's why I didn't exactly know the whole situation, thank you for clearing that up to me.

yes i agree ps3 doesnt have many games but theres a reason for that, i have a ps3 and did a little research, sony put so much money into the ps3 with accesories, mostly blueray, microsoft bought most rights to games, especially rpgs which upsets me very much, but ps3's gettin better lately, barely any rpgs but alot of fun action games, such as uncharted and warhawk
