Listen for ticking and chimes. Clock stops after about 90 seconds. Springs appear to be overwound.

Try to replace all the bushings in that clock.

and be sure that there is not too much endshake on the pivots:)

1. you can't overwind a clock
2. If it at least ticks and strikes then you don't have a serious spring problem. Whatever the case may be, it will need to be cleaned and oiled properly, pivot holes checked, etc.
