Excerpts from STONEHENGE 1984: A Midsummer Night Rock Show. Available at http://www.voiceprint.co.uk/web/Release/VPDVD50/
During the seventies and early eighties the Summer Solstice Festival at the historic Stonehenge was one of the major dates in the Festival diary. In 1984 a film was made of the event which that year included music from Hawkwind, Here and Now and Roy Harper.
Not to be confused with the commercially available video release that contained only edited performance footage. This film truly captures the essence of the festival in what proved to be the final time the festival was allowed to take place on the historic site.
For those who attended the festival this film will invoke immense and nostalgic memories and for those unable to attend it will give them an insiders view of one of the last great free festivals.
Tracks are:
1. Rock n Roll Man - Roy Harper 2. Ghost Dance - Hawkwind 3. Watching The Grass Grow - Hawkwind 4. Social Alliance - Hawkwind 5. Secrets - Here and Now 6. Theatre - Here and Now 7. Glad You're Here - Here and Now 8. Jessica - The Enid 9. Somehting Wicked This Way Comes - The Enid
Brilliant. I was there and I left a part of me behind forever. Thanks for posting this and bringing back happy memories.

I played drums with the Enid at this event - I remember it being great fun and listening to Then There Were None brought it back! How do I get the DVD?

Fair play buddy! I hear what your saying. On reflection to my original remarks, I may have gone a bit overboard with my shot-down review. They were from straight after watching the dvd, and it's just knowing what edits have been made annoyed me at the time.
But obviously it goes without saying, that for any Hawkwind or Here & Now fan who haven't seen the footage before, I would highly recommend purchasing this, because it'll be a long time coming; if at all, you ever come across the VHS's.

not all of it is dodgy though some of the editing and sounds went out the window. This was shot on 16mm not on video like the jettisoundz video so the quality is better and from what I understand the artists and the peeps who actually put the show together will get some well deserved royalties. Which was not the case with Jettisoundz.. The additional footage of Here and Now the interviews posterior with Hawkwind and Here and Now and shots of the site are some cool archive material my tuppence.

If you're an Enid fan and you're interested in buying this DVD then here's the correct track listing (they've got it wrong)
1) Then there were none
2) Judgement
3) Twinkle twinkle little star
4) Something wicked this way comes
