In July 2006 i contacted renowned games industry musician, Tim Wright - a.k.a CoLD SToRAGE, about the possibility of a video to showcase his music and my 3d work. Asimov developed over 5 months of late nights (and excessive caffeine consumption ;) ) and proved to be a fantastic learning and creative experience in every way.
The story and idea for Asimov came about while listening to Tims album "Melt"; the music generated such strong mental images that i knew this would be the track i would work with. Easily the most ambitious piece i have produced so far, Asimov provided innumerable challenges and was a perfect way to expand and advance my skills to achieve the results i wanted. Thanks to www.jungletribe.co.uk for modelling and texturing assistance and to Tim Wright for his input throughout development.

  • that was terrible, issac is rolling in his grave, the robots weren't even three-law positronic robots, they showed emotion all over the place and had genders. The music was pretty awful to boot, give up please.

  • @ragnarokwar88 - no, they were anthropomorphic toy robots, it`s called suspension of disbelief.

    nice to see you`re obeying the 3 laws of the internet though;

    1) miss the point

    2) add snark

    3) be a douche

next time i i`ll be sure to add a "not a documentary" disclaimer right at the start, just for you.

avoid my website, it has Aliens, Predators and self-aware washing machines on it - none of them are real either.

  • As an atheist, am I allowed to say that music is god awful? Just plain awful isn't quite strong enough.

  • you can say whatever you like, and lucky for you, you`ve done so on the internet, so it`ll be read and disregarded my loads more people than if you`d just kept it to yourself :D

  • Fifth law?

  • it`s certainly my favourite one.

  • @b0b95eg LOL! That's what I like... direct feedback on my music. ;O)

    All the best CoLD SToRAGE.

Check out my latest album... see if that's more up your street? - coldstorage org uk.

  • you've got skill, "subbed"

  • @b0b95eg Back in 2006 when this was uploaded YouTube didn't really do wonderful things to audio quality, so it's a little on the buzzy and harsh side in this video... But if you mean it's compositionally awful, fair play to you for voicing your opinion. As my Mum always says, "you can't please all the people all the time!" - All the best, Tim aka. CoLD SToRAGE ( the composer ).

  • Music is kickass.

  • nice animation

  • nice job!!!

  • this is weird
