a cup of corn meal and a cup of sugar flushed down the toilet each month. Research it and check it out. It seems to work great. As far as rid X goes.. I think it causes more problems in the long run then it fixes.
(Post #2) It's the bleach from washing the clothes that makes everything even worse! Bleach kills the enzymes in an otherwise healthy system. I limit my bleach to the very minimum and use bleach substitutes.
I used Rid-X for years and had problems for years, until I found the truth about septic systems. It's bad top use those 'treatments', because they speed the digestion process which defeats the purpose of the system. It over works the solids in tank and sends solids into the field (fill) lines, clogging them up. The field lines are where the main problem is. (Some of) The people who work on septic tank systems know this but won't tell you, because that is their bread & butter... so to speak.
