They probably didn't use that animation because...that isn't exactly how a rapier is ment to be used. It's a puncturing blade, after all.

I like it alot better I think but I think they used the other one because a rapier is used much like a fencing foil or even an epee and that's actually where the foil came from rather than saber like slashing your opponent it's used to thrust your opponent.

Marie Belle (i think thats her name) from Suikoden wasn't elegant.........hell she was muscular.

@ShadowWolfRising Still fits her style though. The slashing stabbing breaking brutal business is more ephraim's part. Kinda stereotypical, the female characters usually have the elegant battle styles (magic, archery, fencing). Quite a few exceptions though.

This one is so much better. The one they actually used made it look like she was tripping into the enemy and stabbing them on accident :P
