Nice film Jonathan and this too takes me back. Remember I took over your room on Kersland St when I too worked at the old BBC Scotland building. It's a shame you didn't film the new BBC Scotland building on the banks of the Clyde. The building is so much better than the old one and of course things and life move on. xx
That is just sad , When you said "My first job in BBC" I thought you're talking about the present day , It is just sad to see such an establishment goes to the ground like this , But as you said "Life goes on" , Good Luck in everything you do dear Jonathan....
There is talk of pulling down the old BBC Scotland building as the owner can't get anyone to buy it and it's falling into a state of disrepair. Not sure how true that is though (Might just be local gossip.) The BBC are are all nice and happy in their shiny new waterfront building down at the Clyde, right next door to STV's shiny new building! As I've lived in Glasgow all my life I don't see the changes as much, but can understand it can be a shock. The city is ever evolving.
As an American I know there have been some funding changes. Bush house and all that. Job actions. Shows like Outlook and the Strand are not heard at their usual time, I don't know if they are even on. I switch off sometimes because I am tired of hearing about what bomb blew up in Afgh, Paki, Iraq. Stories that if they were aired on the TV would have subtitles and I have to understand with just audio. I miss hearing "Bedecia" et alia. The legacy of backlash on claims of sexing up Iraq goes on
