In this video I demonstrate the performance increase you can gain if you use software that makes use of Intel Quick Sync that is a built-in component of all 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors.
I test Sony Vegas Pro 11 with GPU acceleration off vs CyberLink PowerDirector that makes use of Intel's Quick Sync video processing hardware.
The video formats that seem to be supported in PowerDirector by Quick Sync are H.264 / AVC and MPEG-4.
I test with Sony AVCHD 1920x1080 50i. A 1 minute 13 second video clip in SV Pro 11 takes 1 minute 53 seconds vs 36 seconds in PowerDirector...mind blowing!!!
