Michael Gross of 'Family Ties' at the 2011 TV Land Awards

The 2011 TV Land Awards were held on April 10, 2011 at the Javitz Center in New York City. We spoke with actor Michael Gross whose series "Family Ties" was being honored that evening. He spoke about his work in the upcoming season of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as well as his past experiences on "Family Ties" and the "Tremors" film series.

Post-Family Ties,Michael Gross sported beards on and off. The time he guest-starred on SPIN CITY,when his FT co-star Michael J. Fox was the star,Gross sported a beard. He had the beard in the 1988 Bette Midler-Lily Tomlin comedy BIG BUSINESS.

Between the second and the last seasons of FAMILY TIES,Michael Gross sported a beard which he shaved down to a moustache several times. Gross just said that after the FT final wrap party,he immediately began working on the sequel to TREMORS,in which he sported only a moustache(he had the beard during the wrap party). I saw him with Gerald McRaney in the CBS telefilm(or was it NBC) VESTIGE OF HONOR(aired December 30,1990). Gross was completely clean shaven.
