Jovante Woods suffered from asthma his whole life. But he was not the kind of teenager who showed it. The son of former Bengals running back Ickey Woods was about to begin his junior year at Princeton High School. He was a starting cornerback on the varsity football team. He was a16-year-old track star who carried a 3.8 grade-point average, and he dreamed of becoming an attorney, an athlete or a comedian. Like his parents, he counted himself among the 22 million Americans who deal with the chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways. But he considered asthma more of a nuisance than anything else. What he and parents didn't know was that asthma could kill someone who seemed just fine. Jovante suffered an asthma attack in August 2010 so severe that it killed him. In this "Tell Me a Story," his parents talk about what they didn't know that could be a lesson for other parents.
