This was the first real tune I wrote. James was a youngster in the Durban Caledonian Pipe Band where we played under P/M Peter Duncan. Not sure how old James was then (15?) but he's now happily married to Charmaine and they live in sunny Oberdeen (oops, Aberdeen) in Scotland. Charmaine is also a piper! James currently plays with the Grade One Pipe Band from New Zealand, Manawatu.

  • Hi,

Did you play for Durban Caledonian?

Reason I ask is my dad played for them around 94, I was only a lightie so can't really remember specific faces, but remember tagging along to practices and gigs.

His name is Ciaran "Ron" Williams

  • Hi there. I did play for Durban Callies for a while....cannot be sure of the dates but I wrote this tune in '94 so guessing I was there at that time. I would recognize him, I'm sure! Thanks for writing!!
