Thanks for this video. It's nice to watch this and think that my grandfather worked on its construction. I haven't been through here in over 40 years.
-
@metrotv i thought we are not allowed to bring fruits.
-
My family uses the bridge instead! lol

The traffic can be a bitch in there at times.

Well they do mark the International Boundry. If you are not blind, you will see it. Some of us who have been crossing the border for over 40 years, we take something like crossing the border for granted. Not everyone goes to bars or strip clubs, some go for church reasons, such as me and my friends, some for shopping while in the States. Just have patience at the customs, they are doing their job.

@LLB9977 well im Canadian and the American customs are always dicks to me but the Canadian side is always nice and let me through right away

LOL that tunnel freaked me out as a kid XD

Great video. Thanks. I wonder what the pollution levels are inside the tunnel compared to outside.
Sydney's M5 tunnel is 250 points, 5 times the "safe level" of 50 points. The M5 allows trucks. No wonder I don't use that tunnel.
Canadian customs can be real a-holes too. and they seem to be biggers pricks to Canadians. They seem to be cool to Americans probably because they see them as visiters and they see their Fellow Canadians as people who are just trying to sneak purchases in tax free.

I have seen a trend in the past few years where it is the American customs officials that seem to be nicer than the Canadian ones. This is true both in Windsor and Niagara Falls in my experience.
I'm an American for the record.

One exchange I had at the U.S. side of the Tunnel:
U.S. Customs official (black guy): You have anything to declare?
Me: Just a case of Molson Export and some leftover fruit that I did not eat from the grocery store.
U.S. Customs Official (Pauses and seeing that I am no threat and that this exchange is a waste of both our time) Aaahhh, get in here ! (Meaning you're cool, get back in here to the USA) !!
We both laugh, he emphatically waves me back in to the country.

I blame our own country at times for the overzealusuness at border crossings and searches at airports. It is only said tounge in cheek and not meant to be taken too literally. But the last few times I have come home from Canada, the U.S. border guards have actually been easier to deal with than the Canadian ones.
