Margaret Edson's 1999 Pulitzer prize-winning play Wit has made it to Broadway, starring Tony winner Cynthia Nixon as a strong-willed English professor facing Stage IV ovarian cancer. Directed by Manhattan Theatre Club artistic director Lynne Meadow, the play opened on January 26 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Broadway.com sent Word of Mouth panelists Jill, Matthew and Carol to see this moving drama and share their thoughts on the play and Nixon's performance as Professor Vivian Bearing. Were they ready for this battle of wits?
I saw this in LA several years ago with Kathleen Chalfant and it was so moving and so enlightening. Cynthia Nixon is a fantastic actor and I want so much to see her in this.
