Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid

A Fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go,
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite, babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up
I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well, I got a date and I won't be late
I Picked her up in my '88'
A Shag on down by the social hall
When the joint starts jumpin'
I'll have a ball

I'm gonna rock it up
I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Along about 10 I'll be flying high
A walk on out in the open sky
but I don't care if I spend my dough
'Cause tonite I'm gonna be one happy soul

I'm gonna rock it up
I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

Well it's Saturday nite and I just got paid
A Fool about my money don't try to save
My heart says go, go,
Have a time 'cause it's Saturday nite, babe
And I'm feelin' fine

I'm gonna rock it up
I'm gonna rip it up
I'm gonna shake it up
I'm gonna ball it up
I'm gonna rip it up
And ball tonite

  • You know why I like Elvis' version better than Little Richard's? No saxophones! In the mid-50s, THAT'S what seperated Elvis from the pack. This was a teeny little rockabilly group with one electric instrument. Well, two, if you count Elvis.

The same rationale drives my preference for Elvis' version of "Long Tall Sally" and "Ready Teddy" over Little Richard's*.

*Please. I am in no way trying to diminish Little Richard's monumental contribution to Rock and Roll. I remain a HUGE fan.

  • great song and vid as usual Jackie :)

    thanx for the share

You are the BEST! Your videos bring him back to us in a rare way, filled with the love only a really true fan could demonstrate. Keep up your great work. We owe you, and Elvis would be very proud of what you do for him, and his fans.

    Thanks

    Andy
