"Expert" forensic witnesses are paid to say what the prosecutor wants to hear unless the defendant is fabulously wealthy. Crime labs have been caught manufacturing "evidence" - The CSI effect pollutes the minds of jurors into believing every effort has been made to ascertain truth, and the "for profit" prison system is reaping the rewards.
But i fail to understand the upside to the CSI effect...there may be more people wanting to get into it, but that doesnt effect funding and many other things.... definitly not a balance of pros and cons.
