Five Things Not to Say During Labor and Delivery - Video

These five phrases should be avoided at all cost during the birth of a baby. Starting with number 5, Is that normal? Never show fear in the delivery room, and always stay calm and collected with your pregnant wife. Number 4 is avoiding anything that involves my Mom says. While experiencing childbirth the last thing your wife wants to hear is any advise or anything to do with her mother-in-law. Number 3 is to ask, why is the birth in the metric system? Do the math yourself and keep irrellevant questions out of the birthing center. The number 2 things to avoid is saying "I'm not sure I'm ready for this." It's too late to make that decision, and the most important thing is to be supportive during the child birth process. The final thing, and most important to remember is to avoid saying anything like "toughen up" and/or "suck it up". Baby Delivery whether natural birth or through a cesarean section is a very difficult process. I once assisted a delivery and during the active phase of labor, the husband asked 'Does it hurt?' to our surprise, the wife suddenly bit the husband's hand (hard) and snapped, 'Did that hurt? Imagine that on your penis. Tenfold.' True story.

It's a good thing we were wearing masks. I was grinning like a hyena. XD

@372nat It all depends on the manner of how you say it. If your really true about your thought it could have a positive effect. But the best and most successful way a man can comfort a woman is to understand her pain and just be there. Words don't compare to the energy you give off by being humble and quiet and trying to know that you can't understand her pain.
