It's a cultural link we have to the Ulster-Scots since so many of us (probably half or more of us are Scottish or Ulster-Scots) came from that background. Even today there is friendly relations between us. I went to Belfast and was treated like a native and amazed at all the connections and similarities between us. We don't see it as a political connection (as your word 'loyalist' would imply) but rather as a cultural connection based on background, culture and ancestry.

We certainly don't want an immoral and anti-liberty system like slavery back. That was the mid 1800's. We want liberty and cultural preservation, not slavery. In fact, we want to be freed from our 'slavery' to Washington, DC's control.

@Hefferman1 Democracy is not freedom. Forcing minorities to go along with whatever the majority wants is slavery. It's not just Obama, the whole of 'DC is unsalvageable. We must destroy and rebuild at this point. Unfortunately due to the media most of us don't realize this yet. All of the states need to secede. What we have is the pacific coast and northeastern controlled Yankee democrats and the big Yankee businessmen of the north aka the Republican party controlling all.

the war wasent about the slaves in fact most people in the north at that time continued to keep slaves for many years after the war it was about taxes control dictatorship and mostly tax tax tax why have 100 slaves when you could have 10.000 meaning black white everyone a slave in a since through taxes like if you buy a home pay it off taxes never stop so basically you never technicially own it cuz it can get taken for taxes and why did abraham get shot?? think about it
