The SNP wants to protect local services by cutting spending on Trident: In the next Parliament public spending will be squeezed and we will argue that action to reduce the deficit is based on what is important to people here in Scotland. That means investing in local services and cutting back on unwanted projects like the £100 billion planned replacement for Trident. Our preference is delivering 1,000 more police on the streets, protecting concessionary bus travel, action on fuel prices, protecting local post offices, reducing waiting times in our hospitals and building on the already record low primary class sizes.
