Using a www.templatesbynumbers.com template to cut finger joints (also known as comb joints or box joints) on the bandsaw to make drawer boxes.
The finger joints are sized to follow the drawer box sizes giving a handmade look to the finished chest of drawers. The chest of drawers feature in a large built-in piece also designed with www.templatesbynumbers.com

  • im doing a wooden chest for my gcse final project and i want to use the this for my joints however is there an eisier way wiithout having to use the chisel?

  • @jaketheflake90

If you don't want to use a chisel to finish the joint you could try the scrollsaw. Take a look at our website where we use the same template as in this video but this time with a scrollsaw. Search for 'comb joint hegner' in Google.

  • i finished my chest and we found that you can make a stop at the back of the ban saw so that when you hit you depth you cant go any further then its just a case of making lots of slits and going side to side with the wood on the ban saw to clean it out - it was really precise :)
