Brendan Lake performs Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla, arranged for solo guitar.

September 28, 2010 at Arizona State University's Organ Hall

UPDATE: I sincerely appreciate all the praise and support I've received for this arrangement. I've received a lot of requests for this transcription and due to legal reasons I'm unable to sell it just yet. I'm working on publishing an anthology of Piazzolla arrangements and if you'd like to be notified when its published, send me an email. Thanks for your interest.

  • Excellent job! Is that a Smallman?

  • @BTBHSOHBOY Thank you! It's a guitar made by Jeremy Cooper, a builder in Tucson, AZ. He does great work.

  • wow! i like the artificial harmonics! are you selling the score for this?

  • @seikun616 Thanks! I eventually will, once I arrange a few more tangos and I figure out the copyright paperwork.

  • Great performance! Do you have any tabs to this piece?

  • @neekap90 And thank you :)

  • Brendan, thesis the best guitar version of Oblivion I have viewed on tube. I listen time and time again.

Have you arranged enough Tangos to publish this version of Oblivion.

    Regards,

    Roger Warne,

    Western Australia.

  • this is wonderful! where can I buy the score?

  • very nice, but wierd question, is he sitting in an emptied swimming pool?

  • this really calms me down, good job buddy! :D

  • add: IT'S BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!

  • compliments on the arrangement and execution. I play an arrangement of Ryuji Kunimatsu, I feel this more ... Latin. respects

  • @brendanlakeguitar Just out of curiousity, are you classically trained? I only ask because I have been training myself for a while through notation and tabs, and have adopted the classical guitarist stance of the raised leg and centered guitar. Not that whether you are trained makes a difference, talent is talent. Any tips for a budding fingerstylist? Thanks!

  • The best guitar version of Piazzola Oblivion I think. Thank you for sharing. I cannot stop listening to this play.

  • Wow! Exquisite

  • Brilliant guitar arrangement of Mr. Piazzolla's materpiece!!!
